This workshop introduces participants to the essential skills needed to create a personalised cheongsam using ready-made patterns. Learners will explore key design features, take accurate body measurements, perform basic pattern adjustments, and complete the garment through hands-on sewing, fabric preparation, and construction techniques. By the end of the course, participants will have a wearable Modern A-Line Cheongsam, suited to their preferred fit and style—ready in time for the festive season.

Fabric - Cotton Poplin, Rayon, Tencel - (based on average M size, Knee Length, Normal Sleeves length)( 2.5 metres for 44" width )
1 packet of 12mm 2-fold Cotton Bias Binding Tape Matching/Contrasting Main Fabric Colour (To purchase 1 more packet if doing sleeveless dress, for armhole binding)

We highly discourage you from missing any classes since the entire program is designed to be hands-on intensive. Make sure you block off your time during your training with us or find an intake option that will ensure you do not miss any classes. You will only wish that you had more time in the class!
Tembusu Institute schedules classes on selected public holidays to cater to adult learners. Public holiday classes provide greater flexibility and accessibility for learners who may not be able to attend weekday or regular working-hour classes due to work, family or caregiving commitments. All schedules are planned and communicated clearly to students prior to course commencement.
Class schedules, including lessons conducted on public holidays, are communicated to students prior to course commencement. Students are given the option to select an alternative schedule where classes do not coincide with public holidays at the point of enrolment, subject to availability. If a student chooses to proceed with a schedule that includes public holiday classes and subsequently requests to miss or defer a lesson for personal or religious reasons, standard deferment policies apply. This may include applicable deferment or administrative fees, in accordance with Tembusu Institute's published course terms and conditions. No additional penalties are imposed beyond these stated policies, and the same approach is applied consistently to all students.
