Perfecting garment fit starts with a trained eye and skilled hands. In the fashion and apparel industry, pinning is more than just a temporary hold — it’s a critical communication tool between design, alteration, and production. This course provides participants with the essential skills to assess garment fit on real bodies, apply precise pinning techniques, and record clear instructions for downstream alteration work. Whether you're working in fashion retail, tailoring, or production, this course helps you build the technical confidence to make informed fit evaluations that elevate product quality and customer satisfaction.
Through practical demonstrations and guided hands-on practice, participants will learn how to recognize fit discrepancies across different body types, understand the influence of garment construction and fabric, and apply effective pinning methods that reflect professional standards. Ideal for those seeking to enhance their alteration or garment consultation capabilities, this course forms a critical bridge between design intention and final garment performance.

Tembusu Institute schedules classes on selected public holidays to cater to adult learners. Public holiday classes provide greater flexibility and accessibility for learners who may not be able to attend weekday or regular working-hour classes due to work, family or caregiving commitments. All schedules are planned and communicated clearly to students prior to course commencement.
We do not offer any make-up or replacement classes.
Class schedules, including lessons conducted on public holidays, are communicated to students prior to course commencement. Students are given the option to select an alternative schedule where classes do not coincide with public holidays at the point of enrolment, subject to availability. If a student chooses to proceed with a schedule that includes public holiday classes and subsequently requests to miss or defer a lesson for personal or religious reasons, standard deferment policies apply. This may include applicable deferment or administrative fees, in accordance with Tembusu Institute's published course terms and conditions. No additional penalties are imposed beyond these stated policies, and the same approach is applied consistently to all students.
